The United States Embassy in Dhaka has issued a warning that anyone caught submitting falsified documents or providing false information in their visa applications could face a permanent ban from entering the US.
In a post on the embassy’s verified Facebook page on Monday (September 8), officials stressed: “Visa fraud carries very serious consequences. If you lie or present fake paperwork, your visa can be permanently revoked under US immigration law. This means you may never be allowed to enter the United States again.”
This follows a previous announcement on September 1, in which the embassy emphasized its commitment to combating visa fraud and illegal immigration through cooperation with multiple US agencies. Individuals found guilty of visa fraud could face a lifetime ban on entry to the US.
The statement also noted that a nation cannot remain secure without strong border protections. Those aiding visa fraud or facilitating illegal immigration to the US could face criminal prosecution, according to the embassy.
