The chief adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, has called for support from the armed forces, police, and other law-enforcement agencies to help ensure that the upcoming national election in February is held peacefully and in a festive atmosphere.
Speaking today, Wednesday, at the certificate-awarding ceremony for the DSCSC Course 2025 at the DSCSC complex in Mirpur Cantonment, he made the appeal.
“We are now in an election period,” the chief adviser said. “Preparations are underway, and polling is scheduled for the first half of February. For this, we need the cooperation of the military, the police, and all enforcement agencies.”
Professor Yunus added that the country is undergoing a significant transition — “a move from a period of upheaval to the path of elections.” He said the goal is for the polls to be peaceful, celebratory, and a moment of unity when people can express their hopes and aspirations.
