Senior Journalist Jewel Khandaker Receives BPA Award
Senior journalist Jewel Khandaker has been honored at the recently held Best Professional Award 2025 (BPA) ceremony.
The event took place on Saturday (29 November) at the Bishwo Shahittya Kendro in the capital. Khandaker was recognized for his long-standing professionalism, credible reporting, and his contributions to the country’s media sector.
Jewel Khandaker currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the weekly newspaper “Deshpotro” and is also the founding chairman of Songbad TV. Beyond newsroom leadership, he has been active in advocating for journalists’ rights and speaking against oppression within the media industry. Over the years, he has also faced several legal challenges for publishing reports in the public interest.
The award ceremony ran from 4 PM to 7 PM and was attended by notable journalists, media personalities, and members of the business community.
The program was organized by Dainik Manobadhikar Protidin and TM Fair Market. Event partners included Star Bangladesh Media, E-Kroy, Daily Kaler Samaj, Deshpotro, and the online media partner Bangla TV 71.
