Swaying Buildings and Ground Cracks in Madhabdi

Cracks have appeared in the ground at two locations in Palash upazila following the earthquake. One of them is on the dirt road in front of Palash Residential Model School and College, near the Dorihawlapara bus stand in the municipal area. Arif Pathan, the institution’s director, said the road is commonly used by students and staff, and the strong tremor yesterday morning caused the surface to split.
Another long crack has also formed at the Ghorashal Dairy Farm in the Lebupara area. Several fissures stretched across the farmyard from one end to the other. Workers at the farm said the cracks appeared during the shaking.
