What the New Chief Prosecutor Said
Md. Aminul Islam has assumed office as the new Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal. On Tuesday, he spoke with reporters at his office regarding his new role.
When asked whether he would provide explanations on certain high-profile matters, Aminul Islam said, “I have just taken up this responsibility. I need to fully understand the workings of this tribunal, including the details of all ongoing cases. Any allegations brought to my attention will also be thoroughly reviewed.”
He added, “Let me be very clear: during my tenure, if I or any other prosecutor or tribunal official is found involved in any form of corruption, strict legal action will be taken against them.”
