Ten Bangladesh Biman Aircraft Tires Reported Missing
Concerns have recently been raised over maintenance standards after faults were detected in several of the airline’s aircraft. Amid these concerns, a new issue has come to light.
Bangladesh Biman has reported that ten of its aircraft tires went missing. However, instead of labeling it as “theft,” the airline described the incident as a “transfer” in a general diary (GD) filed with Shahjalal International Airport police.
The GD was submitted on Monday by Mosharaf Hossain, the airline’s Assistant Manager (Security).
According to the GD, the ten unserviceable tires were not found near the airline’s hangar complex in the auction shed on the evening of 16 August. When the airline’s Material Management Supervisor, Arman Hossain, and store helper Samsul Haque were questioned about the missing tires, it was revealed that the items had been handed over to another private airline—without notifying the proper authorities.
