Family Reports Journalist Missing in Dhaka
The family of senior journalist Bibhu Ranjan Sarker says they have been unable to locate him since yesterday morning, prompting them to file a general diary (GD) at Ramna Police Station in Dhaka.
Bibhu Ranjan, 71, serves as senior assistant editor at the Bangla daily Ajker Patrika and frequently contributes columns to various media outlets.
According to his family, he left home at 10:00 am yesterday, stating he was heading to his office, but has not returned and also left his mobile phone behind.
Unable to find him, his son Wreet Sarker filed a GD at Ramna Police Station last night. In the report, he stated that despite leaving home as usual for work, his father did not arrive at his office in Banasree, and searches in multiple locations, including parks and hospitals, were unsuccessful.
By 3:00 pm yesterday, Bibhu Ranjan had still not returned home.
Golam Faruk, officer-in-charge of Ramna Police Station, confirmed, “We are making every effort to trace him.”
