Abu Hanif, a senior council member and media coordinator of Gono Odhikar Parishad, clarified that there has been no discussion or understanding with the BNP regarding any electoral alliance or seat-sharing arrangement ahead of the upcoming national election.
While the Gono Odhikar Parishad has been engaged in simultaneous movements alongside BNP, recent meetings between the two were strictly in continuation of that joint movement and not related to electoral negotiations.
The party has already declared its intention to contest all 300 parliamentary seats independently. However, should any alliance be formed—whether led by Gono Odhikar Parishad or involving it—it will be decided only after thorough discussion within the party forum and based on input from grassroots members.
Hanif also addressed reports suggesting an understanding between the party and Nurul Haque Nur for the Patuakhali-3 constituency, saying such claims could cause confusion. He urged everyone not to be misled by unverified information and requested journalists to confirm with the party before publishing any news concerning alliances or seat-sharing involving Gono Odhikar Parishad.
