Bangladesh’s cricket team, led by Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, concluded the year on a high note. After securing victories in the first two matches of the three-match T20 series, the Tigers entered the final game with confidence and the opportunity to sweep the series against the West Indies.
In the final match, Bangladesh sealed an 80-run win, completing their first-ever T20 series whitewash against the Caribbean side. The triumph added another trophy to the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s collection. The team is set to return home with the trophy on Sunday, December 22. Five members will arrive in Dhaka at 10:45 a.m. via Emirates Airlines, carrying all the team’s luggage. Another group of seven will land at 5:00 p.m. the same day.
On Monday, December 23, two players will return at 8:35 a.m. via Qatar Airways, followed by four more players at 10:45 a.m. via Emirates Airlines. Meanwhile, local coach Mohammad Salahuddin is expected to resume his duties, while the international coaching staff heads off for the Christmas holidays.
Earlier in the month, Bangladesh faced disappointment in the ODI series, losing all three matches on December 8, 10, and 12. However, the team made a remarkable comeback in the T20 series, starting with a victory on December 16, clinching the series on December 18, and making history with today’s record-breaking performance on December 20.
