The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to commence on December 30, with a music festival already marking the tournament’s formal inauguration. Five days ahead of the matches, Chittagong Kings unveiled their jersey in tribute to the martyrs of the July uprising.
In a statement issued on December 25, the team highlighted the revolution on August 5, describing it as the dawn of a new Bangladesh, where united citizens and students toppled fascism. Chattogram played a pivotal role, with people enduring bullets to dismantle oppressive barricades. The sacrifices of Wasim and Hridoy Tarua illuminated dreams of a new nation.
To honor this chapter, the Kings’ jersey for BPL 11 features elements symbolizing victory and unity, telling the story of a rising Bangladesh. This season also marks the team’s return to the league after nine years, under the ownership of Samir Kadir Chowdhury. With Australian legend Shaun Tait as coach, the team boasts a strong lineup.
