The sale of advance tickets for intercity trains for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr started on Friday. On this day, tickets for trains scheduled for March 24 were sold online. Following this, advance tickets for trains on March 25 will be sold today (March 15). A total of 35,935 seats are available for trains departing from Dhaka for the Eid journey.

This information was shared through a work plan implemented by Bangladesh Railways to ensure smooth travel for passengers during the Eid period.

The work plan also revealed that ticket sales will begin online at 8:00 AM, with tickets for trains operating in the western region available at this time. Tickets for eastern region intercity trains will go on sale at 2:00 PM.

As in previous years, seven days’ worth of advance tickets for intercity trains will be sold through a special system. To make it more convenient for passengers, all tickets will be sold online. Tickets sold through this special system will not be refundable.

According to the Bangladesh Railway’s decision, tickets for intercity trains on March 24 were sold on March 14. Additionally, tickets for March 26 will be sold on March 16, for March 27 on March 17, for March 28 on March 18, for March 29 on March 19, and for March 30 on March 20.

Based on moon sighting, tickets for March 31, April 1, and April 2 may be sold later. Furthermore, in response to passenger requests, 25% of the tickets will be available at the starting station before the journey begins. Each passenger will be able to purchase a maximum of four seats for the Eid journey.

Station Manager of Dhaka Railway Station, Shahadat Hossain, confirmed that advance tickets for 43 intercity trains operating from Dhaka to the western and eastern regions are being sold through a special system. Tickets for 20 intercity trains in the western region were made available from 8:00 AM on Friday, while tickets for 23 intercity trains in the eastern region were available from 2:00 PM on the same day.
