Whenever Jeffrey Epstein’s name comes up, people first think of a notorious criminal. But gradually, a darker and more uncomfortable reality emerges—one where sexual crimes, immense wealth, state power, and the hidden threads of global politics intertwine.

Recently released documents suggest that Epstein had knowledge of potential military moves by the UAE and Qatar. He was also aware of the European financial rescue packages before they were implemented. Some reports even indicate that he had information about Russia allegedly warning Turkey ahead of the failed 2016 coup attempt against President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died under mysterious circumstances in a New York jail in 2019, had conversations and connections that now raise serious questions: did he have direct or indirect ties with international intelligence agencies?

The newly released documents, numbering in the millions, do not provide concrete evidence of Epstein regularly visiting CIA, MI6, or Mossad offices. But in reality, he did not need to. Former and current diplomats, world leaders, and billionaires visited him.

Epstein’s private island in the Caribbean, where he trafficked and abused underage girls, became the center of an elite, secretive, and powerful network. He operated at a level often far beyond the reach of professional intelligence analysts. Epstein had close email correspondence with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.

Their relationship became so prominent that Epstein reportedly requested Barak publicly confirm that he was not working for Mossad. However, Epstein’s connections to intelligence and power networks go even further back.

One early link came through Donald Barr, a former OSS member during World War II, who later taught physics at the elite Dalton School in New York. Despite lacking formal qualifications, Barr appointed Epstein as a teacher there. Barr’s son, Bill Barr, later served in the CIA and held prominent roles under Reagan and George H.W. Bush, eventually becoming U.S. Attorney General during Donald Trump’s first term.

Epstein’s rise accelerated after a 1981 trip to the UK, where he met British arms dealer Douglas Leese. Leese introduced him to Israeli businessman Robert Maxwell and Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi. Leese had mediated historic sales of British fighter jets to Saudi Arabia and facilitated Epstein’s entry into elite networks. Around this time, the Iran-Contra scandal unfolded, in which Reagan’s administration secretly sold weapons to Iran, with Israel acting as an intermediary.

Epstein also worked with former U.S. Justice Department official J. Stanley Pottinger. Publicly, they offered tax advice, but behind the scenes they were involved in covert operations, including arms dealings in Iran. Saudi billionaire Khashoggi became one of Epstein’s major clients. Authorities later found a fake Austrian passport in Epstein’s New York residence listing Saudi Arabia as his address.

Even in 2018, a year before his death, Epstein remained actively engaged with Middle Eastern politics. In emails, he speculated on using the Jamal Khashoggi murder to entrap the Saudi Crown Prince.

Epstein’s most enduring and influential connection came through the Maxwell family. His associate Ghislaine Maxwell, daughter of media mogul and former British intelligence officer Robert Maxwell, played a central role. Robert Maxwell had extensive ties to Mossad, MI6, and other intelligence services.

After the Iran arms trade ended, Robert Maxwell mysteriously died in 1991 from his yacht in the Canary Islands, shortly after Epstein met Ghislaine. Epstein later claimed in emails that Maxwell had worked for Mossad and threatened to leak sensitive information if not paid.

Another key figure in Epstein’s network was U.S. billionaire Les Wexner, owner of Victoria’s Secret and other major brands. Epstein had near-total control over Wexner’s wealth. Media reports indicate that aircraft used in the Iran-Contra affair were later used for Wexner’s clothing transport. Even after being convicted for sex trafficking, Epstein maintained international connections, facilitating meetings between influential figures in Israel, Mongolia, and Russia, often on behalf of Barak and other elites.

A year before his death, Epstein’s interest in Middle Eastern politics remained clear, including strategies involving Khashoggi’s murder and the UAE’s ruler.
