Bus fares have been increased by 11 paisa per kilometer.

The impact of rising fuel prices has now reached the transport sector, leading to an adjustment in bus fares. The fare has been increased by 11 paisa per kilometer, and the new rates will come into effect from today, Thursday (April 23).

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam shared this information during a discussion meeting held at the Secretariat in the afternoon.

Currently, the government-approved fare for long-distance buses stands at Tk 2.12 per kilometer. In Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas, the fare is Tk 2.42 per kilometer for buses and Tk 2.32 per kilometer for minibuses.

Authorities have also indicated that fares will be reduced if fuel prices decrease in the future.
