Army progressing towards modernization: Chief of Army Staff

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the Chief of Army Staff, has been officially inducted as the 7th ‘Colonel of the Regiment’ at the Bangladesh Infantry Regimental Centre, assuming its guardianship.
The induction ceremony took place on Thursday morning at the Shaheed Colonel Anis Parade Ground in Rajshahi Cantonment. Upon his arrival at 9 AM, he was formally welcomed with a military salute and honored with a Guard of Honor by a contingent of the Bangladesh Army. Following this, the Army Chief was presented with the ‘Colonel Rank Badge’ before delivering his speech.
In his address, General Waker-Uz-Zaman highlighted the modernization and advancements of the Bangladesh Army, emphasizing that its capabilities will continue to grow in the coming days. He reiterated the commitment to developing highly skilled and professional personnel within the force.
After the ceremony, he spoke at the 19th Annual Commanders’ Conference, discussing the regiment’s progress, professional development, and operations both at home and abroad. He urged all members of the regiment to stay prepared for the challenges of the 21st century through modern and relevant training. The event was attended by senior officials from Army Headquarters and the Bangladesh Infantry Regiment, along with other distinguished guests.
