BNP Chair Visits Jamaat Ameer’s Residence After Election Victory

 

BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman visited the residence of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday evening. He arrived at the Jamaat chief’s home in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital at around 7:10 pm.

 

The BNP secured a major victory in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, while its former alliance partner, Jamaat-e-Islami, won the second-highest number of seats in the polls.

 

Party leaders said the visit was primarily a courtesy call. Alongside exchanging greetings, they indicated that current political issues may also have been discussed during the meeting.

 

After the meeting concluded, Tarique Rahman’s vehicle was seen leaving the Jamaat chief’s residence at approximately 7:58 pm.

 

Later in the evening, around 8:00 pm, the BNP chair was scheduled to visit the residence of Nahid Islam, convener of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP).
