BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is currently receiving treatment at the London Clinic, is reported to be in better condition. She is now able to walk without the help of a wheelchair or anyone else. However, a final decision on her liver transplant has not yet been made. Once discharged from the hospital, she will go directly to her son Tarique Rahman’s house in London, where she plans to stay for a while. A member of the medical board overseeing her treatment mentioned that all test results have not yet been received, but the ones available show no cause for concern. She is undergoing thorough checkups in a positive hospital environment, which has contributed to her improved well-being. While she can walk independently, she still requires assistance when visiting the washroom or other urgent places. Her son and daughter-in-law bring her meals regularly. The medical board will make a decision on the liver transplant after reviewing all the reports, considering the associated risks. Her medical team has also adjusted her treatment plan. Khaleda Zia, 79, has been battling multiple health issues such as liver cirrhosis, kidney problems, heart issues, diabetes, and arthritis for a long time. She was admitted to the clinic in the UK on January 8 for advanced treatment under liver specialist Professor John Patrick Kennedy’s care.
