DSE sees a 63 crore taka increase in transactions along with index rise

On Tuesday, the third trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) saw a rise in its indices due to an increase in share prices, with the total transaction amount increasing by nearly 63 crore taka compared to the previous day. The DSE’s main index, DSEX, rose by 32.94 points, or 0.62%, to reach 5,267.88 points. Similarly, the Shariah index DSES increased by 6.94 points, or 0.59%, closing at 1,176.4 points, while the DS30 index rose by 3.86 points, or 0.20%, to reach 1,930.37 points. The day’s trading amounted to 607.2 crore taka, up from 544.28 crore taka on the previous day, with 27.67 million shares traded across 396 companies. Of these, 196 saw price increases, 156 experienced declines, and 44 remained unchanged. Grameenphone Limited led the market with 21.34 crore taka in transactions, followed by Agni Systems, Shinepukur Ceramics, Brac Bank, and others. The top gainers included Bashundhara Paper Mills, AB Bank, and Social Islami Bank, all seeing significant percentage increases in share prices. On the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), the indices also rose, but the trading volume decreased, with total transactions amounting to only 13.17 crore taka, a sharp drop from the previous day’s 31.5 crore taka. CSE’s top traded stocks included Meghna Petroleum and others.
