After two consecutive days of fog, the sun has emerged in Dhaka, and the fog began to clear from the morning, leading to a rise in temperatures in the capital. According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to remain similar until Tuesday. However, there is a chance of rain in three regions of the country, which may be followed by a mild cold wave, increasing in intensity afterward.

On Saturday morning (January 4), Meteorologist Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Mallick shared that the lowest temperature recorded was 9.8°C in Tetulia, Panchagarh, and 13°C in Dhaka. He mentioned that both day and night temperatures are expected to increase by one or two degrees Celsius, but dense fog may continue to create a chilly sensation during the day in some areas.

The forecast also includes a possibility of rain and cold weather in Sylhet and Mymensingh on January 8. Dr. Mallick further noted that from January 9, temperatures are likely to drop again, accompanied by a mild cold wave across the country. Long-term forecasts suggest that 3 to 5 cold waves may pass through various regions, potentially bringing temperatures as low as 6°C. It is expected that the western, northern, and northeastern regions could experience moderate to severe cold waves, while other regions might experience mild to moderate cold spells.
