Biman Bangladesh Airlines has introduced special discounted airfares for migrant workers traveling to Middle Eastern destinations including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. Previously, this national carrier had already been offering such benefits on outbound flights to Saudi Arabia and Malaysia under the ‘T’ class Reservation Booking Design (RBD).
With these new routes added under the special fare scheme, Biman aims to strengthen its support for Bangladeshi expatriate workers, who are widely recognized as ‘Remittance Warriors’ for their significant contributions to the country’s economy. According to a press release issued on Monday (June 16), the discounted one-way ticket offer will be available to Bangladeshi migrant workers until December 31, 2025.
Biman emphasized that this initiative is designed to ensure affordable, seamless air travel for expatriates who play a crucial role in sustaining Bangladesh’s economy. The airline reaffirmed its commitment to continue standing by migrant workers by providing safe, cost-effective, and convenient travel options. Additionally, Biman pledged to keep the needs of these workers as a top priority in the future as a recognition of their invaluable contribution.
It is worth noting that remittances sent by millions of Bangladeshi workers employed in the Middle East and Southeast Asia remain one of the largest sources of Bangladesh’s foreign currency reserves.
