Shahidul Islam and Khurshid Alam Re-elected DUJ President and General Secretary

Md. Shahidul Islam has been re-elected as the President of the Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ), and Khurshid Alam has been re-elected as the General Secretary for the next full term. Under their leadership, the current full executive committee will continue to serve.
The decision was unanimously approved by the members present at the organization’s bi-annual general meeting held today (Saturday, December 6) at the National Press Club.
Other committee members include:
Vice Presidents — Rafique Muhammad, Khandaker Hasanat Karim, and Rashedul Haque;
Joint Secretary — Md. Didarul Alam Didar;
Treasurer — Khandaker Alamgir Hossain;
Organizing Secretary — Saeed Khan;
Publicity Secretary — Abul Kalam;
Sports and Cultural Affairs Secretary — Rafique Liton;
Welfare Secretary — Salah Uddin Razzak;
Office Secretary — Iqbal Mojumder Touhid.
Executive Members include: Amir Hamza Chowdhury, Md. Nizam Uddin (Dorbes Nizam), Raju Ahmed, M. Mosharraf Hossain, Talukder AHM Nurul Momen (Talukder Rumi), Muhammad Anwarul Haque (Gazi Anwar), Md. Abdullah Mojumder, and Fakhrul Islam.
The inaugural session of the meeting was presided over by DUJ President Md. Shahidul Islam, while the working session was chaired by senior journalist Mostafa Kamal Mojumder.
Among others who spoke were: BFUJ President Obaidur Rahman Shaheen, BFUJ General Secretary Kader Gani Chowdhury, former BFUJ General Secretary MA Aziz, former DUJ President Elahi Newaz Khan Saju, former DUJ President and Daily Jugantor Editor poet Abdul Hai Sikder, National Press Club President and Daily Kaler Kantho Editor poet Hasan Hafiz, former DUJ General Secretaries Baker Hossain and Jahangir Alam Pradhan, and Dhaka Reporters Unity President Abu Saleh Akon.
