Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi is nearing the end of his illustrious career and could announce his retirement at any time. Ahead of that, he has embarked on a new journey, entering the real estate business in Spain. Messi is now the chairman of Edificio Rostower Socimi, a real estate investment trust. The company is solely owned by Limecu España, his family investment firm, although they plan to bring in new investors.
Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, serves as the vice president of the board, alongside other members like Alfonso Nebot, who manages the family’s business, and Ramon Adell, a board member of Spain’s energy firm Naturgy. Shares of the trust are priced at €57.4 each, with a capital base of €223 million—equivalent to over 2,784 crore Bangladeshi Taka.
Founded in 2013, the trust owns seven hotels in Spain and Andorra, as well as offices and apartments in Spain, London, and Paris. Many of its investors hail from Catalonia, where Messi spent two decades after moving to Barcelona at age 13 in 2000.
