Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council (BJUC) Celebrates Its 1st Anniversary

Dhaka, November 3:
The Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council (BJUC) celebrated its 1st founding anniversary and the beginning of its 2nd year with a discussion meeting, cultural program, and buffet dinner at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel 71 in Bijoynagar, Dhaka.
The event was presided over by Sabbir Ahmed Rony, Founder Chairman of BJUC and Advisory Editor of the Daily Swadesh Bichitra.
The program was inaugurated by Khan Nazrul Islam Hannan, Chief Spokesperson of BJUC and Chairman of the Anniversary Celebration Committee.
Ayub Bhuiyan, General Secretary of the National Press Club, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest.
Poet Raju Alim, journalist, media personality, and representative of Channel i, joined as the Keynote Speaker.
The welcome speech was delivered by Lion Md. Bashiruzzaman, Advisor of BJUC.
The event was conducted by Md. Moktar Hossain, Founder General Secretary of BJUC.
Special guests included Mir Abdul Alim, General Secretary of Columnist Forum of Bangladesh and Permanent Member of the National Press Club; Sheikh Ifaz Ahmed, Managing Director of NEN Group of Companies; Omar Faruk Jalal, General Secretary of Bangladesh Editor Forum; Ahmed Abu Zafar, Chairman of the Trustee Board of Bangladesh Provincial Journalists Forum; Poet Ashok Dhar, General Secretary of the Television Journalists Association of Bangladesh (TEJAB); A.R.M. Kamrul Islam, Chairman of Amader Alokito Samaj; and noted businessman Md. A.G. Mahmud, among others.
Also present were Monirul Islam Monir, Chief Advisor of BJUC; Md. Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Vice Chairman; Md. Rokonuzzaman Rocky Bhuiyan, Vice Chairman; Rafiqul Huda Babu and Sayem Islam Tutul, Joint General Secretaries; Zahirul Kaiyum Mithu, Organizational Secretary; Mostafizur Rahman, Publicity Secretary; Shahab Uddin Masud, Office Secretary; Lion Khan Akhtaruzzaman, International Secretary; Shahana Selim, Women Affairs Secretary; and Rafiqul Islam Jewel, Human Rights Secretary, along with other executive members of the organization.
