Bangladesh has issued a sharp response to India’s statement regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, the spokesperson for the Bangladesh United Sanatani Awakening Alliance and the head of Chittagong’s Pundarik Dham. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka clarified that his arrest was based on specific allegations, not on religious grounds. Bangladesh also expressed concern over India’s statement.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that it had taken cognizance of a statement released by India’s Ministry of External Affairs to the media on Tuesday regarding Bangladesh’s internal matters. The Bangladeshi government expressed deep disappointment and regret, emphasizing that certain groups have misrepresented the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das. The government asserted that such baseless statements distort the truth and undermine the spirit of friendship and mutual understanding between the two neighboring countries.
