Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A.M.M. Nasir Uddin has stated that voting and vote counting will be conducted with full transparency, and the Election Commission is committed to delivering a free, fair, and inclusive election.

 

He made these remarks on Wednesday (February 11) during a briefing session with international election observers and journalists at the InterContinental Hotel in the capital. The event focused on the upcoming referendum and election process.

 

The CEC announced that, for the first time, postal voting has been arranged for citizens living abroad. A significant number of voters have already cast their ballots, and those ballot papers have reached the country.

 

He also mentioned that all eligible voters are being encouraged to participate in the election, regardless of gender, religion, or ethnicity.

 

According to the CEC, around 160 international journalists will observe the election. Both local and international observers will carry out their responsibilities in line with the guidelines set by the Election Commission. He expressed hope that their reports would accurately reflect the true picture of the election.

 

Highlighting the overall preparedness, he said the Election Commission has completed all necessary arrangements. Law enforcement agencies will be deployed to ensure security. He reaffirmed that the voting and counting processes will be managed transparently, and the Commission aims to present a free, fair, and participatory election to the nation.
