Sunny morning in Dhaka, thunder showers likely in the evening

Although the morning started off with some sunshine, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has predicted potential rainfall in Dhaka later in the day.

 

According to a six-hour forecast issued Sunday (August 3) at 7 AM, the sky over Dhaka and its surrounding areas is expected to remain partly cloudy to temporarily overcast. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are likely during the day.

 

The Storm Warning Center at the Meteorological Department further stated that winds from the south and southwest may blow at speeds between 10 to 15 km/h. Daytime temperatures are expected to stay largely unchanged.

As per the forecast, the temperature recorded at 6 AM in Dhaka was 29.0°C, with humidity at 87%. On the previous day, the highest temperature in the capital reached 34.2°C, while today’s minimum was recorded at 27.0°C. Rainfall in the last 24 hours measured only 3 millimeters.

 

Meanwhile, a separate forecast for inland river ports from 5 AM to 1 PM on Sunday indicated that no warnings or alerts are currently necessary. This suggests that there are no major weather-related disruptions expected for river transport.
