Dengue claims 3 lives, 580 patients hospitalized

Dengue Claims 3 Lives, 580 Hospitalized in Last 24 Hours Across Bangladesh

In the past 24 hours, three people have died from dengue fever transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, and 580 patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country.

From January 1 to September 7 this year, the total number of dengue-related deaths has risen to 135, while confirmed cases have reached 34,411.

According to a regular dengue update released on Sunday (September 7) by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services, the number of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours were:

Barishal Division (outside city corporations): 124

Chattogram Division (outside city corporations): 94

Dhaka Division (outside city corporations): 85

Dhaka North City Corporation: 85

Dhaka South City Corporation: 80

Khulna Division (outside city corporations): 32

Rajshahi Division (outside city corporations): 55

Rangpur Division (outside city corporations): 3

Sylhet Division (outside city corporations): 1

Mymensingh Division (outside city corporations): 17

In the past 24 hours, 552 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals. So far this year, a total of 32,705 patients have recovered.

Of all confirmed dengue cases from January 1 to September 7, 66.6% were men and 33.4% were women.
