Tarique Afzal, the Managing Director of AB Bank, has resigned from his position citing personal reasons. Currently in Canada, he submitted his resignation via email on Sunday, December 8. The bank’s board of directors is expected to discuss the resignation in a meeting later today.
A senior bank official mentioned that Tarique Afzal was scheduled to rejoin work today after a long leave. Instead, he sent his resignation letter, referencing various health-related challenges as the reason for stepping down.
Tarique Afzal joined AB Bank in 2018 as the Deputy Managing Director and was appointed as the President and Managing Director on July 8, 2019.
