India Earthquake Felt Across Multiple Locations in Bangladesh

A moderate earthquake struck various parts of Bangladesh, including the capital, Dhaka, on Wednesday at 11:36 AM. The Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the occurrence. According to the center’s officer-in-charge, Md. Rubayat Kabir, the earthquake measured 5.6 on the Richter scale. No immediate reports of damage have been received. This marks the fourth earthquake to be felt in the country within the past 10 days. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the earthquake originated near Yaripok, close to Imphal, the capital of India’s Manipur state, located 449 kilometers from Dhaka. The tremor occurred 44 kilometers east of Yaripok, with a depth of 10 kilometers. The earthquake was also felt in several areas of India, including Manipur, and in multiple districts of Bangladesh, including Chattogram, Dhaka, Gazipur, Kishoreganj, Mymensingh, and Sylhet.
