India’s Army Chief Raises Concerns Over Growing Bangladesh-Pakistan Relations

During a session at the India Today Conclave, Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi addressed topics concerning China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. He responded to various questions regarding India’s military preparedness, lessons from ongoing conflicts, the situation in Bangladesh, and border issues.
When asked about Pakistan’s growing ties with Bangladesh, General Dwivedi stated that he was concerned about any country’s relationship with a nation that harbors terrorism. He emphasized that terrorism routes could be exploited through such alliances, making it a matter of serious concern for India.
However, he also highlighted the strong military-to-military ties between India and Bangladesh, noting that both countries regularly exchange information to avoid misunderstandings or conflicts.
On the subject of China and Pakistan, General Dwivedi acknowledged their close strategic cooperation, with Pakistan relying heavily on China for military equipment. He admitted that India must prepare for potential hostilities on both fronts.
Regarding Jammu and Kashmir, he expressed concerns over continued infiltration attempts from Pakistan, warning that terrorist activities in the region could escalate in the coming days.
