Deep Respect to the Three Fire Service Heroes Who Lost Their Lives in Tongi
Profound tribute is paid to the three courageous members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence who sacrificed their lives while fighting a devastating blaze at a chemical warehouse in the Sahara Market area of Tongi, Gazipur, on 22 September 2025.
Those who gave their lives in the line of duty are:
Firefighter Martyr Mohammad Nurul Huda
Firefighter Martyr Shamim Ahmed
Warehouse Inspector Martyr Khandaker Jannatul Naeem
Their selfless actions stand as an extraordinary example of dedication to public safety.
As part of a humanitarian initiative, Sayem Sobhan Anvir, Chairman of Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG), has provided financial assistance of 100,000 taka to each of the three bereaved families.
The support was formally presented today at the Fire Service and Civil Defence
Headquarters by:
Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, Director General of the Fire Service
Lt. Col. (Retd.) Syed Jamil Ahsan, General Manager (Central Administration), Anvir Bashundhara Group
Senior officials and personnel of the Fire Service were present at the event and expressed gratitude for this compassionate gesture.
