Jamaat Chief to Launch ‘Election Tour’ in Dhaka on January 22

Jamaat-e-Islami Chief Shafiqur Rahman is set to begin his “election tour” in Dhaka on January 22 through public outreach and rallies, the party said in a press release sent to the media on Friday night.
According to the release, the Jamaat chief will visit his electoral constituency, Dhaka-15, on January 22, meet the public, and address an election rally. He will then travel to northern Bangladesh on January 23 and 24.
On January 23, Shafiqur Rahman will speak as the chief guest at three events: a local rally at Gor-e-Shaheed ground in Dinajpur at 2:00 PM, a rally in Thakurgaon at 4:00 PM, and an evening rally in the divisional city of Rangpur.
The next morning, he will visit the grave of Abu Saeed, the first martyr of the July uprising and a student of Begum Rokeya University. Later that day, at 10:00 AM, he will address a public rally in Palashbari, Gaibandha, as the chief guest.
