The ship MV Abdullah will reach Dubai today

The Bangladeshi ship MV Abdullah, freed from Somali pirates, has crossed the Strait of Hormuz, which is expected to reach the outer anchorage of Al Hamriya port in Dubai on Sunday afternoon.

Mizanul Islam, media advisor of Kabir Group, the owner of the ship, gave this information on Sunday morning.

Regarding the position of the ship, he said, “It has crossed the Strait of Hormuz and reached near the port of Al Hamria now.” It may reach Dubai after 4pm (in the afternoon).”

Earlier, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kabir Group’s SR Shipping Lines Mehrul Karim said, ‘MV Abdullah ship is scheduled to arrive at Al Hamria port in Dubai at around 4 pm (Sunday). We have all the preparations. The vessel will be towed to the jetty on Monday to discharge the coal.

KSRM Group also said that two of the 23 crew members will fly back home after the ship reaches Al-Hamriya port. And the remaining 21 people will return to the country by that ship.

The ship was going to Hamria port with 55 thousand tons of coal from the African country of Mozambique. It was captured by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean on March 12, 600 nautical miles from Mogadishu, Somalia.

The ship was forced at gunpoint off the coast of Somalia. A month later, on April 14, Somali pirates released the ship and 23 crew members. Then the ship left for Hamria port.
