Ashley Giles, chief executive of Worcestershire and former England cricketer, said in a statement: ‘The news of Josh’s death has left us all devastated. Josh was more than a teammate on the team. He was an integral part of our cricket family. We will miss him. Our condolences and prayers go out to Josh’s family and friends.’

Becker signed with Worcestershire in 2021 at the age of 17. He then played 43 first-class matches for the club. This all-rounder took 22 wickets in these matches. Besides, he took 27 wickets in 25 ODI matches.

In addition, Baker also played for the England Under-19 team in 2021. But he could not prolong that career. Baker’s stint in the national team jersey ended in just two ODIs.
