BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has said that no propaganda can destroy the strong foundation of the country’s religious harmony. Speaking at a discussion organized by the Bangladesh Puja Celebration Front on the occasion of Rath Yatra in Naya Paltan, Dhaka, on Friday (June 27), Rizvi remarked that certain individuals are misusing the BNP’s name to implicate the party in wrongdoing. He assured that actions are being taken against such people and urged party members to remain vigilant.
Rizvi expressed hope for a better political atmosphere in the coming days, asserting that the sacrifices made through blood and struggle would eventually lead to genuine democracy. He strongly criticized Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, accusing her of turning the country into a haven for plunderers and laundering large sums of money in the name of projects like the Padma Bridge and Metro Rail. He further claimed that the former Chief Election Commissioner Habibul Awal had clearly admitted that all elections held during Hasina’s rule were illegitimate. Rizvi concluded by expressing optimism that, following the reform of the caretaker system, elections would be held at an appropriate and logical time.
