Five people, including the pilot of the Bangladesh Air Force training jet that crashed into the campus of Milestone College in Dhaka’s Uttara area, have been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) on Monday (July 21).

Among the injured is Flight Lieutenant Tawkir Islam Sagar, who was piloting the F-7 BGI aircraft alone when it went down shortly after takeoff at 1:06 PM. An official investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident.

Meanwhile, at least 60 people — including women and children, most of them students — have been admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery with burn injuries. One student was reportedly killed in the incident, according to Milestone College official Mizanur Rahman.

He told local media that the aircraft crashed directly into the college premises and caught fire immediately, causing chaos and injuries on the ground.

Fire service teams, alongside personnel from the police, army, BGB, as well as local residents, students, and guardians, took part in the emergency rescue operations.
