A medical board will sit at 3:00 PM on Sunday (17 August) to review the health condition of Cultural Adviser and filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, according to his wife, actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha.

Sharing the update on her verified Facebook page earlier in the day, Tisha wrote:

“Today at 3 PM a board meeting will take place at the hospital. After that meeting, the next course of treatment will be decided. I humbly request everyone not to be misled by information that does not come from reliable sources.”

On Saturday night, she also requested prayers for Farooki’s recovery, saying, “He fell ill while attending a ministry workshop in Cox’s Bazar and was later brought to Dhaka for treatment. He is now under hospital care. Doctors have said he is currently out of danger. Please keep him in your prayers.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Zafar, confirmed late at night that Farooki’s condition is stable.

According to the DGHS chief, Farooki’s illness was caused by work pressure, irregular meals, and dehydration.
