Tarique Rahman returned to Bangladesh from the United Kingdom last Thursday after 17 years. Since his arrival, he has been participating in a series of political and family-related engagements.
Earlier in the morning, he visited Dhaka University to pay tribute at the grave of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of the Inqilab Mancha. He later went to the Election Commission (EC) headquarters in Agargaon to complete formalities related to his National Identity Card registration. From there, he proceeded directly to Banani Graveyard.
A scheduled visit by Tarique Rahman to Pangu Hospital was cancelled, as there were no injured individuals from the July mass uprising currently receiving treatment there. This information was confirmed by the BNP’s media cell.
Tarique Rahman returned to the country on Thursday after nearly two decades abroad. His homecoming from exile in London drew an extraordinary response, with large crowds of party leaders, activists, supporters, and members of the public gathering in Dhaka to welcome him.
A reception rally was held in the Purbachal 300 Feet area, where BNP-nominated candidates from across the country were present. Each candidate arrived with party workers and supporters from their respective constituencies. Following the event, they returned to their local areas.
