Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus attended the ongoing Bangladesh Investment Summit at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka. On Wednesday, April 9, he is scheduled to officially inaugurate the “Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025.”
As part of the summit’s third-day activities, Dr. Yunus will also launch the pilot program of Starlink in Bangladesh, marking the country’s entry into space-based satellite internet services. Technology experts see this as a step toward bringing high-speed, international-standard internet to the country.
During his speech, Dr. Yunus is expected to highlight ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and will call upon international companies to consider Bangladesh as a viable destination for business. Over the first two days of the summit, representatives from countries like China, South Korea, Switzerland, and the U.S. have expressed interest in investing across various sectors. Some foreign banks have also committed to providing development loans to support Bangladesh’s economic growth.
To ease foreign investment procedures, the government has already announced relaxed official requirements and a new energy policy. Dr. Yunus is likely to emphasize the strategic advantages of relocating businesses to Bangladesh and will assure full support for international investors.
