A human chain was organized by conscious citizens of Ward 46, Gendaria, demanding road repairs. The event took place today from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, stretching from Loharpul to Postogola Cantonment. Hundreds of people participated in the massive gathering. The protest was led by prominent businessman and renowned figure of Ward 43, Lion Abdul Mannan.

The Secretary General of the human rights organization Lighthouse, ABM Saifullah, attended as the chief guest and addressed the crowd. Other notable speakers included student leader Ashiqur Rahman, Md. Delwar Hossain, Md. Abdul Latif, Siam Ansari, Hafez Maulana Ruhul Amin, and Hafez Maulana Lokiyot Ullah.

In his speech, Chief Guest ABM Saifullah highlighted the dire condition of the road from Loharpul to Postogola Cantonment, describing it as unfit for travel for years. He stated that the entire road is riddled with potholes, often causing accidents involving various types of vehicles. Despite the road being a vital route used by millions daily, commuters are forced to endure severe difficulties.

A memorandum had previously been submitted to the South City Corporation administrator, but no action has been taken yet. Additionally, several lanes in the area have been dug up under the guise of development but left unrepaired, further exacerbating public suffering.

The speakers demanded an immediate resolution to the issue, warning that if the problem persists, residents will resort to larger-scale protests, including road blockades.

Following the human chain, a large rally was held from Loharpul to Gendaria Police Station.
