Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume flights from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh on October 26, while services on the Dhaka-Dammam route restarted on Wednesday, the national flag carrier announced.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, Biman said the decision to resume Riyadh-bound flights followed an improvement in the situation surrounding attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia.
According to the announcement, a flight will depart Dhaka for Riyadh at 1:25 am on October 26. The airline said it would assess the overall situation before deciding whether to resume additional flights on the route.
Meanwhile, Biman will operate daily flights between Dhaka and Dammam from October 21 to 26. During this period, flights will depart Dhaka for Dammam at 8:00 am each day, using Boeing 777 aircraft.
Changes to Jeddah Flight Schedule
Biman has also announced changes to its Dhaka-Jeddah flight schedule.
Two flights will operate from Dhaka to Jeddah on October 22. From October 23 to 25, one flight will depart Dhaka for Jeddah daily at 7:20 pm.
Madinah Flights Operating Normally
Regular flights on the Dhaka-Madinah route have been operating since October 18, according to the airline.
Boeing 787 aircraft are being used on the route. Biman said the existing flight operations and schedule for Madinah would remain unchanged until further notice.
The airline advised that further decisions regarding Riyadh-bound services would depend on its ongoing assessment of the situation.
