President Md. Sahabuddin emphasized the importance of a fair and transparent selection process to include deserving individuals in social safety net programs. He expressed a collective vision for transforming Bangladesh into a modern welfare state, urging unified efforts from all.
In his message on the occasion of National Social Service Day, he highlighted the role of government-to-person (G2P) initiatives and strategic reforms in strengthening the social safety net and reducing poverty. He stressed the need to ensure government support reaches the truly needy and marginalized for their overall development, as this is critical for building an equitable welfare state.
He further stated that the government’s extensive initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life, ensure social justice, and protect human rights for vulnerable groups such as the elderly, widows, abused women, persons with disabilities, disadvantaged children, and underprivileged communities. This year’s theme, “No one to stand by you? Social service is there for you,” is both timely and meaningful in this context. Finally, he wished success for all programs organized to mark National Social Service Day.
