On April 7, protests and marches took place across Bangladesh, condemning Israel’s brutal attacks on Palestine and calling for the boycott of Israeli products. Students from Jahangirnagar University (JU) organized a protest march and rally on the university campus, highlighting their strong opposition to Israel’s actions in Gaza. Earlier in the morning, students from Jahangirnagar University School and College also participated in similar protests on campus. In addition, students from various educational institutions in Savar held separate protests.

Speakers at these rallies condemned Israel’s recent barbaric attacks on innocent Palestinian civilians, calling for an immediate boycott of Israeli goods. Similar protests were held in Dharmarai and Ashulia by ordinary citizens, including Muslims, expressing their solidarity with the people of Gaza.

The protests also included slogans such as “Down with Israel,” “Why did my brother die? We demand answers,” and “Boycott Israeli products.” In Dharmarai, over 200 students participated in a march that began near the Thana Road area and passed through the Dhaka-Aricha Highway.

In Ashulia, students from religious institutions organized a march at Baipail, with a large rally planned for later in the afternoon. These protests are part of a broader global response to Israel’s aggression in Gaza, following the call for a worldwide general strike by Palestinian National and Islamic Forces, led by Marwan Barghouti and approved by Yasser Arafat. The protests were held in response to the escalating violence in Gaza and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people.
