Storms Likely in 11 Regions Including Dhaka by Evening

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has issued a warning of thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds, with speeds reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour, over 11 regions including Dhaka. The alert, valid until 6 PM on Sunday, was issued for inland river ports across these areas.
According to the notice signed by meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir, temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or northwest may sweep over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Khulna, Cumilla, Rangpur, Bogura, Rajshahi, Jashore, Kushtia, and Sylhet. These conditions may be accompanied by rain or thundershowers.
In light of the situation, river ports in the affected regions have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number one. A separate forecast from the Met Office also indicates the likelihood of temporary thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds across various parts of the country in the coming days.
