A procession organized by the World Sunni Movement has been held in the capital, demanding a national holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Meraj.

On Monday (January 27), the movement arranged a human chain, joyous rally, and assembly in front of the National Press Club to highlight the significance of Shab-e-Meraj as a profound spiritual realization of truth and life.

Addressing the event as the chief guest, Chairman of the Insaniyat Revolution, Allama Imam Hayat, stated, “The holy Meraj Sharif marks the direct meeting of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) with the Most Merciful Allah.”

He further explained, “Through this sacred meeting during Meraj, Allah revealed Himself to the Prophet (peace be upon him), which is an infinite blessing for all creation. Failing to express gratitude for this would amount to disobedience. However, unlike Ramadan and Eid-ul-Adha, Meraj is not a prescribed Eid in terms of religious law. It is a celebration of faith and the heart, incomparable to any other occasion.”

At the event, he also reiterated the demand for declaring Shab-e-Meraj a national holiday.
