Residents of Chamudda, Paran, and Naibari in Pubail, Gazipur Metropolitan, held a press conference and protest rally against a false and misleading news report regarding a local road. The event took place on the morning of Wednesday, January 29, at the Chamudda BDP Primary School field, organized by the residents and the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) Ward No. 40 community.

The keynote speaker at the press conference was Advocate Nazrul Islam Khan Biki, former councilor of GCC Ward No. 40. In his speech, he emphasized that the long-awaited road connecting Paran, Naibari, and Chamudda has been a crucial demand of students and the general public for years. If the road is paved with a 20-foot-wide carpeting, it will significantly ease the suffering of local commuters. He also asserted that residents on both sides of the road voluntarily donated their land for the construction and that no homes, boundaries, or structures were forcibly demolished.

Expressing strong disapproval, he condemned the false news published the previous day, stating that it was a deliberate attempt to mislead people. He further criticized the report and named Ranjan Palma, Ajay Palma, Malancha Palma, Jatin Palma, Mintu Shikdar, and Benjamin Palma, who were cited in the news. These individuals were also present at the press conference and vehemently opposed and denounced the false report.

The press conference and protest rally were attended by prominent figures, including Nur Mohammad Nur Ali, Vice President of the Pubail Thana BNP; Harun-or-Rashid, Convener of Pubail Thana Jatiya Party; BNP leader Kamal Hossain; Harun-or-Rashid, Member Secretary of the Pubail Thana BNP Volunteer Wing; and numerous local residents from all walks of life.
