BNP’s Central Assistant Youth Affairs Secretary, Mir Newaz Ali Nawaz, has alleged that a particular political party is conspiring to postpone the elections with a specific agenda, which would push the country further into chaos.

He made these remarks as the chief guest at an Iftar and prayer gathering organized by the Dhaka Journalist Council at Segun Bagicha today.

During a brief discussion session wishing success for the newly formed organization comprising prominent journalists in Dhaka, the former VP of Dhaka College stated that politics in the country has turned into a mere game for students and young people. He warned that they are driving the nation toward civil war and urged conscious citizens to remain vigilant.

The event was presided over by the organization’s convener, Ikramul Islam Tipu, and attended by special guests, including Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists’ Treasurer Khairuzzaman Kamal, Dhaka Reporters Unity Multipurpose Society President Abul Hossain, Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association President Mirza Mehedi Tamal, former Vice President Shaheen Abdul Bari, and General Secretary M.M. Badsha. Other attendees included Arif Sohel, former Vice President of the Munshiganj Bikrampur Journalists Forum; prominent journalist Anjan Rahman; Old Dhaka Journalists Forum President Zafru lAlam; Barrister Saifur Rahman; Executive Editor of Subichar and Joint Secretary of the organization, Pradeep Joy, among others.

The event was moderated by distinguished journalist Abul Hossain, with a welcome speech delivered by the organization’s Member Secretary, Md. Mostafizur Rahman Mostak. Joint Convener Shahjahan Swapan provided special insights about the organization.

Additionally, attendees included Halim Mohammad, Atiqur Rahman, Noor Alam Jibon, Ali Talukder, Nazmul Sagar, Suman Dutta, Shariful Haque Pavel, Md. Akbar Ali, Rakibul Islam, and nearly 150 journalists from Dhaka.

Before Iftar, a special prayer and supplication were led by former CRAB Vice President Shaheen Abdul Bari.
