On Friday, April 11, 2025, a human chain was organized by the social organization AKZ at the National Press Club in protest against the brutal occupation of Israeli forces and in solidarity with the freedom-seeking people of Palestine.

Presided over by prominent political analyst Lion Nuruzzaman Heera, the event featured popular actor and vocal activist Mr. Russel Miah as the chief guest.

The program was conducted by Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Chief Coordinator of AKZ, while the keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Monirul Islam Monir, Honorable Chief Advisor of the Bangladesh Journalists Unity Council.

In his speech, chief guest Russel Miah strongly condemned Israel’s actions regarding the Palestinian crisis. Praising AKZ’s humanitarian initiative, he stated that, “If all Muslim nations unite, it will be possible to deliver a fitting response to Israeli barbarity. The time to stand united is now.”

Mr. Monirul Islam Monir, in his address as the keynote speaker, remarked that the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Palestine is utterly deplorable. He added, “Israel’s occupying forces are attacking Palestinians and killing children. As a result, the conscience of the world is now on life support.”

In his concluding speech, Lion Nuruzzaman Heera demanded that “If the UN Secretary-General cannot stop this aggression, he should resign.” He called on Muslims across the world to unite and denounce Israel’s ongoing genocide.

Special guest journalist leader Badol Chowdhury also delivered a speech at the event.

Among others present were Mr. Moktar Hossain, Honorable General Secretary of the Journalists Unity Council; Mr. Gazi Akter, President of the Bangladesh Multimedia Journalists Association; Mr. Ariful Islam Arif, Polash, Alamgir Hossain, and Al Amin M. Tawhid, President of Right Talk Bangladesh. Many others were also in attendance.
