Bangladesh Police Recruitment: Trainee Constable Applications Open Today, Here’s How to Apply and Selection Process

Applications for the position of Trainee Recruit Constable in the Bangladesh Police opened today, Thursday, 5 March 2026. Both male and female candidates from all 64 districts of the country are eligible to apply. The application fee is 40 BDT, payable via a Teletalk prepaid SIM.

While the official notification does not mention the total number of vacancies, the Home Minister, Salahuddin Ahmed, highlighted the manpower shortage across all levels of the police force. Consequently, the government has announced the urgent recruitment of 2,701 constables. In addition, 180 vacancies for police sergeants were also announced on 26 February 2026.

Application Procedure

Step 1:
Candidates must fill out the application form online at: http://police.teletalk.com.bd.
After completing the form, applicants will receive a User ID. Within 48 hours, the application fee must be paid from any Teletalk prepaid number. The fee is 45 BDT (non-refundable service charge included).

Step 2:
Applicants must send two SMS messages from a Teletalk prepaid number with at least 45 BDT balance:

1. First SMS: TRC <User ID> → send to 16222

2. Second SMS: TRC <Yes-PIN> → send to 16222

Selection Process

Phase 1: Preliminary Screening
Applicants will undergo initial screening based on the recruitment rules. Eligible candidates will be selected for Physical Endurance Tests (PET) and verification of documents.

Phase 2: Physical Endurance & Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must participate in physical measurements, document verification, and PET activities including running, push-ups, long jump, high jump, dragging, and rope climbing at the designated time and place.

Phase 3: Written Test
Candidates who pass the PET will take a written exam worth 45 marks covering Bangla, English, General Mathematics, and General Science. The written exam requires an additional 56 BDT fee, payable online.

Phase 4: Psychological & Oral Test
Candidates who pass the written test will attend a 15-mark psychological and oral examination as scheduled in the notification.

Phase 5: Medical Examination & Police Verification
Initially selected candidates must undergo a health check-up and police verification.

Final Phase: Training Admission
After successful medical and verification clearance, candidates will be admitted to police training centers. The final selection committee, coordinated by Bangladesh Police Headquarters, will review all physical and other eligibility requirements before confirming inclusion in the training program.
