Khaleda Zia in London: Welcomed with Flowers

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has finally arrived in London for advanced medical treatment. The air ambulance carrying her landed at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday at 2:55 PM Bangladesh time. Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the UK, Hazrat Ali Khan, welcomed her at the airport with flowers.
After assessing her condition at the airport, she may be admitted to the London Clinic, where an ambulance has been kept ready for her transfer.
Khaleda Zia departed Dhaka late Tuesday night, traveling on the air ambulance at 11:45 PM. During the nearly eight-hour journey, she had a stopover in Doha, Qatar, where Bangladesh’s Ambassador, Nazrul Islam, inquired about her health. Supporters and BNP leaders gathered along the roads from Gulshan to the airport to bid her farewell.
