Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government, emphasized that business is the most powerful tool for changing the world. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 at Hotel InterContinental in Dhaka on Wednesday (April 9), he stated that creating opportunities for collective income and changing people’s lives is a heavenly experience. He stressed the need to move away from carbon emissions and build a new civilization, as the current one is self-destructive.

Dr. Yunus called on the youth to unite and transform the world, asserting that they will not wait for governments to act. He encouraged them to start building that new world now. According to him, investing in Bangladesh means becoming part of a global movement for social business, not just doing business within the country.

He added that Bangladesh presents excellent opportunities for business, which can serve both national and global interests. Highlighting the journey of microcredit from a small Bangladeshi village to becoming a major industry in the United States, he urged international investors to take advantage of Bangladesh’s open business environment, where investments can be made freely and smoothly, just like in their own countries.

Dr. Yunus also stated that Bangladesh is a land of bold and transformative ideas capable of changing the world. Reflecting on the country’s 1971 Liberation War, he became visibly emotional and paused briefly during his speech.
